Introducing Eddie
Hello, my name is Eddie and I am newest member of the Inardua team, joining as a Junior Salesforce Consultant.
Discovering Salesforce
After working several years as a Sports Therapist I felt I needed a career change and wanted to be in a position where I can learn how different businesses and organisations operate.
After reflecting on the subjects I used to enjoy way back in my school days, aligning these with my current skillset and my future goals, I initially wanted to study UX design. When I asked one of my friends in the IT industry for suggested learning materials to get me started he had sent me two links, the first link I forget, but the second link was Salesforce Trailheads and since then I have not looked back.
When I started to use Trailheads I firstly wanted to understand what Salesforce and a CRM actually was and my potential career paths. Trailhead answered all my questions and the platform itself gave me a structure of how to learn to help me achieve my career goals.
Going through the Trailhead modules and projects scenarios gave me a great insight into what I was actually preparing myself for, as well as connecting me with various experienced Salesforce professionals within the Salesforce community.
Having a knee injury when I first discovered Salesforce was a blessing in disguise as it allowed me to put all my focus and attention to achieving my Salesforce Administrator Certification.
After this, I went back to Trailheads to continue my learning and began to volunteer for a non-profit organization to put my new skills into practice.
This opportunity gave me the satisfaction that I had chosen the correct career path as I enjoyed getting to know the organization's objectives, values and how they operate as well as gaining self-belief in my new abilities as I was able to use Salesforce to help solve various issues.
Working at Inardua & Goals
I have been working at Inardua for one week I can already tell this is the perfect company for me to be at to build my career and aligns perfectly with my initial goals when I first made my career change.
Meeting some of the members of the team has got me excited to work with other Salesforce professionals to share ideas with and learn from, developing my project management skills and lastly the ability to use Salesforce to deliver business solutions across different industries.
Initially when I found Trailheads I started to research career pathways I had mapped out all the certificates I wanted to achieve and decided my end goal would be to be a Salesforce Consultant. However, in my short time in the Salesforce community, I have seen so much development which is also creating new opportunities so I have a strong feeling new goals will be set once I achieved my initial goal and as I continue to learn.
Outside of Work
Even though I have retired from working in sports when I am not working I like to stay active you will either find in a park somewhere playing basketball, at the gym, climbing walls, swimming or going for a long walk.
I think I love sports so much as they balance my love for food. If I’m not chefing it up in the kitchen and I am definitely dining out to explore endless options London has to offer.
One of my biggest life goals is to visit as many countries as possible and I am trying to do this by going somewhere new every year, for now, I still have a long list of countries to tick off my list.
