Inardua’s team out(in)g to London’s Calling.
For the benefit of those of you who only know London’s Calling as a song by The Clash, it is also the name of a fantastic community-led event for Salesforce professionals. With over 50 sessions running and several zoom rooms with sponsors, we were spoiled for choice and had to make some difficult calls on what to attend!
After a bit of a debate about who was going to write this blog, we decided we all wanted to contribute.
We have each answered a few questions about our experience.
First up we have Rowan,
Which was the most memorable session for you?
There was a massive variety of talks and products being discussed so hard to just pick one out! I really enjoyed Lucy Mazalon’s discussion around Pardot requirement gathering, and there were great questions coming from all the attendees which is indicative of the friendly community spirit in evidence all-day!
I also loved Sean Dukes’ presentation on Dynamic Forms – a great Salesforce feature and brilliant presentation style from Sean, “cheeky little formulas” aplenty.
Something interesting you learned?
Plenty of practical lifehacks from Steve Molis as ever, taking advantage of formulas in creative ways to solve tricky problems – I'd recommend any aspiring Salesforce Admin to check out his videos online!
And then for us as a business, listening in on Zel Mason’s tips on using V2MOM to Validate Venture’s - a great model used by Salesforce, and something we’ll be sure to incorporate into Inardua’s governance to manage how we achieve our vision and mission!
What would you like to see next year?
There are so many new things entering the Salesforce ecosystem at the moment (TableauCRM, Slack, the Vlocity Industry Clouds etc.) so hard to say what could be new next year! But I’m hoping to have a CPQ Specialist Certification soon, so anything related to Revenue Cloud would be great!
Next we have Josh,
Which was the most memorable session for you?
I particularly enjoyed Melissa Shephards “Tackle Your Everyday Business Problems Like an Architect”, it gave some great insights into the areas in Salesforce that Architecture plays a big part.
Something interesting you learned?
Salesforce DevOps has gone Mainstream 😊 It was great seeing the number of sessions (and Demo Jam!) which covered this topic, with particular focus on the platforms from Copado and (my personal favorite) GearSet.
What would you like to see next year?
The online platform for the event was great – but very much looking forward to the in-person option next year!
And last but by no means least we have Rebecca,
Which was the most memorable session for you?
I would have to say Inside Out Of The Box: Marketing Success, the energy from the speakers Karmel and Chris was brilliant.
This session was a workshop aimed at helping you make a campaign successful. The session guided you through the framework to support a campaign initiative, including questions about target audience, A/B testing, automation, happy paths, edge paths and lots more. Definitely something I will be using in the future.
Having said that, the magician in the Own Backup zoom room was definitely a close second!
Something interesting you learned?
Lots, but the one that comes to mind is the use of profiles, Salesforce is moving towards best practice being for orgs to have as few profiles as possible, and using permission sets instead.
What would you like to see next year?
I would love to see a session which talked about case studies specifically as I think a lot can be learned from these and people’s different perspective on the best solution, as there is often more than one Salesforce solution for a problem.
A special mention to the organizers for putting on the show – great talks, great speakers and great fun. We will definitely be attending next year!
