Winter ‘23 Release

If you are in the UK, like Inardua you will have noticed the days are getting colder and the leaves are starting to fall. Which means we are heading into Winter and the Winter ‘23 Release is now live in all Salesforce Orgs.

As usual the release brings lots of amazing new features, below the team have highlighted their favourites…

This one is definitely going to be a time saver for developers all around the world. Sometimes flows can take a bit of time to edit and tweak bits to make sure everything is working as it should, so being able to cut and paste elements rather than copy and paste, and then having to delete and rename it will definitely be super useful. Also, as developers we find requirements change or develop, and therefore so do the flows, quite often you need to move elements around, making sure that the flow is as efficient as possible so that on the front end, Salesforce is as quick as it can be for the users.

More Flow Builder changes in this release and the big one for me is the new In and Not In operators. This allows you to get related records in a query using a list of record IDs. This will save lots of time as previously you would have to use Apex code to do this, or use a loop with an SOQL query, which is a no-no in the developer world and could hit governor limits.

Another win is being able to save flow tests when debugging a flow. You can create and save a flow test from a debug run then each time you change the flow you can run the test cutting down on manually filling out test fields -  happy days!

Sean - Senior Solution Engineer

Using Dynamic Related List Filters in the Lightning App Builder is a simple but powerful way to ensure your team is more efficient. With this new release, further enhancements have been made to the filter options. You can now select multiple picklist values, such as filtering dynamic related lists of the account page to show all cases with a high priority and a new status. Previously, you could filter by only one picklist value, this is a brilliant new feature.

Charles - Solution Engineer

There are loads of improvements to existing features which I think will make them more useful to end-users. Dynamic Forms now being available on Accounts, Opportunity and Contact pages gives flexibility to what we’re showing users on some of the most common record pages, which brings a really useful level of personalisation.

Collaboration around reports in Slack will provide a really useful way to get insights and actions out of customer data. Rather than having hundreds of reports which are looked at once and never opened again, using the Slack & Salesforce integration to create conversations around trends and key information provides a great way to guarantee engagement with your analytics.

I also like the new To Do list which can be docked within the utility bar. Giving users the ability to see, sort and organise all tasks within one screen provides a great way to manage their workload.
