Summer ‘22 Release

It’s that time of year again the Summer Release is in full swing. The Release notes are out, the Sandbox Preview has been released and the release weekends are just around the corner 20/5, 03/06 and 10/06.

Summer is on its way and Salesforce has begun to release new features to help us get more from Salesforce. Inardua has chosen to highlight our favourite new features.

An enhancement that stood out for me in the Summer ‘22 release is the improvements to Enhanced Landing Page Experience, with multiple small changes to the user interface.

These changes are available in all Pardot editions, the update brings more flexibility to table rows, with column spacing now available. Toast message (completion message) now shows when copying a Code block, as well as any URLs added on the Enhanced Landing Page will now be clickable.

Dynamic related lists add a new component to Lightning pages (Dynamic Related List – Single). Dynamic Related Lists give you the ability to create two related lists with different filters on the same object to see the most relevant records.

This has great benefits as it enables people to create these related lists more efficiently from the Lightning App Builder directly rather than through the page layout editor.

The improvements to the Flow Trigger Explorer will help Salesforce Engineers & Consultants create efficient, joined-up automation more easily and effectively.

The ability to re-order Flow triggers, view object relationships between different Flows, and create new automation all from within one screen is a massive improvement to the user experience - and as we very much embrace the ‘click-before-code’ mantra at Inardua it’s very much appreciated.

Custom Picklists

  • Bulk managing picklist values with the ability to delete, activate, deactivate, or replace multiple custom picklist field values at once, instead of one at a time.

  • The duplicate value error message will tell you which picklist values are duplicates whereas before you will just be informed there is a duplicate value.

A number of ace new features within Flow builder to help with Salesforce Automation.

Screen Flows are now able to incorporate section headers which allows admins to create much more user-friendly layouts within their Screen Flows, ensuring it’s always clear what area the field being filled out relates to.

Additionally, Screen Flows now have the capability to place Name and Address fields directly on Flow Screens - pulling through record information and saving time creating these automations for your platform.

The final feature I want to mention is the new ability to use formulas as part of Flow Entry Conditions - being able to further dictate which scenarios trigger your Flow is super helpful, while the fact that you don’t have to wait until saving your Flow before seeing syntax errors is sure to save time!

So there you have it, Inardua’s favourite features of the Summer ‘22 Release. From May 6th a Release Highlights Module will be available on Trailhead for those who want to digest the information in another way.

The first release weekend is May 20th, this is when the release becomes available to a small number of customers, June 3rd is the second release, where a few more Salesforce instances get updated.

The final release weekend is June 10th and 11th, all customers and Salesforce instances will then have access to all the new features and improvements from the Summer ‘22 Release.
